The Morritt Country House Hotel & The Garage Spa

Photo taken from The Morritt

This was a bit of a discovery because I need to go to the loo really badly and there was nothing nearby. However the SatNav/GPS brought up this place as the nearest pit stop and so here we ended up!

We stayed for lunch as it was well past lunch time so .... FOOD.

There was complimentary bread which was nice as we were so hungry, and Will ordered soup. It was tomato soup if I remember correctly.

I went for a fancier option which was fish, but I cannot remember what it was called. FAIL!
However, it was definitely fish and it was delicate, very lovely.

And then we both got the Sunday Roast (so yes we were travelling on Sunday) and look at it....

The vegetables and sweet potato actually came on the side and there was plenty of gravy!

The meal was truly lovely. The only let down is the roast potatoes, they were nothing special... and bordering on not nice to eat.... but the rest of the meal was delicious.

The hotel itself was really pretty but we did not really have time to walk around. We were rushing home to Suffolk but it is a lovely destination and the views from the hotel are pretty incredible too.

If you live near Durham, check out The Morrit or even when you drive by like us!
